How to Watch: FloWrestling​
Here are three weights I'm watching at the CKLV Invitational:
- 133 lbs. Cornell's Arujau is the favorite, but McGee (ASU), Ragusin (MICH), and Latona (TECH) could pose threats.
- 157 lbs. Let's see if Will Lewan (MICH) can hang on to his #2 ranking against Robb (NEB), Scott (NCST), and Gallagher (OSU).
- 285 lbs. This is a colossal clash between Cohlton Schultz (ASU) and Mason Parris (MICH). Schultz won 6-5 at last year's NCAAs, but this is a battle for #1 heavyweight.
My Prediction:
While I'm excited for the weight above, my bold prediction comes at 149 lbs. I think there's going to be another shakeup between Millner (APP), Sasso (OSU), Thomas (NU), Parco (ASU), and Henson (TECH).
Iowa vs Iowa State
When: Sunday (2:30pm EST)
How to Watch: Big Ten Network
Midwesterners rejoice! The CyHawk series is this weekend, and both teams are ranked in the top ten. The best matchup will likely be a rematch between Jacob Warner and Yonger Bastida at 197 lbs. Last year Bastida won 4-2.
And could freshman Paniro Johnson pull another 149 lbs upset against Max Murin?
My Prediction:
This dual can either be exciting or boring. It just depends if Spencer Lee and Real Woods are in Iowa's lineup. If they're there, Iowa wins 26-7. If not, Iowa still wins 18-13.
Penn State vs Lehigh
When: Sunday, 2:00pm EST
How to Watch: FloWrestling​
On paper, Penn State should dominate Lehigh. But, look a bit closer and you'll see the real draw to this dual: Max Dean vs Michael Beard.
The 197 lbs bout is a revenge match for Beard since Dean transferred from Cornell and took the All-American's starting spot.
My Prediction:
Penn State wins 31-6, and Dean beats Beard (but it's close).
